Seoul’s integrated transportation brand, “Go Seoul,” developed and introduced in February last year to embody the value and identity of the city’s transportation system, has been recognized for its excellence by global design standards, demonstrating Seoul’s international competitiveness in the field of public design.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that “Go Seoul,” the city’s integrated transportation brand, has won three major international design awards: the 2025 Red Dot Design Award in Germany, the 2025 Chicago Good Design Awards in the United States, and the 2026 German Design Award in Germany.
Go Seoul was recognized for its excellence in the Brand & Communication and Graphic Design categories.
“Go Seoul” is said to have been highly recognized for its ability to clearly present Seoul’s diverse transportation modes — including city buses, the subway, the Hangang Bus, and the Ttareungi public bike system — under one unified framework, as well as for its connectivity and scalability across various environments. It has also drawn attention as a case that combines the practicality of public service design with the symbolic value of an urban brand.
Go Seoul was introduced to unify Seoul’s transportation system under a single brand, aiming to enhance both citizens’ mobility convenience and the city’s overall image. It is Korea’s first integrated transportation brand covering the mobility services accessible with the Climate Card, and serves as a symbolic icon of Seoul’s transportation system.
The brand’s core element, “GO,” represents Seoul’s dynamism and citizens’ mobility. Combined with the infinity symbol (∞) previously used for the Climate Card, it conveys the idea of “Seoul’s transportation system that remains continuously connected and evolving.”
Go Seoul has currently been applied to 3,278 city buses operating through central Seoul, Jongno-gu, and the Gangnam area, as well as 44 bus stops and transfer centers, 450 heated benches, and 3,854 bus information terminals (BITs). It has also been installed on a pilot basis at City Hall Station and Jamsil Station, gradually expanding its points of contact with citizens.
It has also been applied to the Hangang Bus system and seven piers, as well as 2,000 Ttareungi public bikes and 2,241 information signs, establishing an integrated brand system that encompasses both water and land transportation. Going forward, the brand will be expanded in phases in connection with the replacement of city buses, subway trains, and 14,935 comprehensive route maps at subway stations.
