Enjoying Hangang Park with a light, breezy hammock and a shaded chair

The Hanul Hanul Hammock is located near the Ttukseom Hangang Park camping area.

It’s about a 10-minute walk from Jayang Station on Subway Line 7,  but if you’re driving, there’s a parking lot right in front of the hammock, making it super easy for car commuters to get there.

Also, just a heads-up, the Seoul International Garden Show 2025 will be held near this area at Ttukseom Hangang Park, so you might want to check that out when planning your visit!

The Shade Chair is designed with 5-module, 3-module, and modified versions, creating a versatile space for relaxation. The version in the photo is the 5-module Shade Chair.

It’s especially great for kids because it’s designed like a rocking chair. Each module offers an individual resting space, and when combined, they form a larger area for group relaxation.

The top of the structure provides shade and a sense of separation, with a lightweight canopy connecting the space. The framework can reach up to 4.2 meters in height, with a mesh chair and roof creating separate resting zones for 3 to 5 people. Some modules can be adjusted to create mesh beds, so people can lie down too. The modules also have lighting, so you can enjoy them even at night. When I visited, the weather was cloudy but still cool and perfect for a relaxing break. Despite it being a weekday afternoon, many people were using the Shade Chairs. I got a chance to sit in one right after someone else left, and even though the weather was overcast, just sitting in the rocking chair was incredibly soothing.

As the autumn leaves slowly turn vibrant, the "Sky Hammock" stands amidst them, almost looking like a piece of art in itself.

I took photos from various angles. Although the cloudy weather made it difficult to get the best shots, I imagine that on a sunny day with the colorful autumn leaves,

this space will be absolutely beautiful. The view of the Han River right in front, paired with the peaceful relaxation spot, creates such a lovely and serene atmosphere.

Right in front of the exhibition space, the Han River was clearly visible.

Watching so many people enjoying their time at the Han River park made me feel relaxed as well.

Just having the river in view, right in front of the exhibits, must be a great comfort for the citizens.

The Hanul Hanul Hammock offered a resting space to citizens throughout October, but unfortunately, it was dismantled on November 4th. I hope that similar fun design facilities will continue to be provided for citizens’ convenience and that we will see more of such projects during the Seoul International Garden Show 2025!

The 2024 Seoul Design International Forum will take place at DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) Art Hall 2 on November 27th.

We look forward to your interest!
